When Marty retired from the corporate world in 1995, he took a series of sculpting classes from Mr. Robert Ortlieb, a well known artist, at the Palos Verdes Art Center in Palos Verdes, California.
As time went on he became enamored with sculpting animals and especially whimsical dogs. And so was born "Harvey Dogs".
Marty's works have been purchased by collectors from Asia, Europe, U.S. and elsewhere. A number of commissions have been done by Marty for those people who want to be reminded of their favorite four legged friend.
To date, Marty has sculpted over 100 different dogs and all are limited edition bronzes. They range in size from 4 inches in height to over 50 inches. They are guaranteed to elicit smiles and laughter from all who see them.
The FDR Library at Hyde Park, New York, has in their collection a Terrier with a likeness which resembles Fala, the President's dog sculpted by Marty.
Renown Hospital in Reno, Nevada has ten of the creatures on permanent display in their pediatric wing, part of their Healing Arts Program.
